Woodland Ridge offers an exceptionally welcoming and comfortable environment in which to creatively engage and learn. The building and decor are inspiring and highly functional for quilters, with ample electrical outlets, lighting, height adjustable tables and chairs, ample ironing and cutting surfaces and design boards. Meals are healthy and delicious. My everyday needs were taken care of, so I could focus on creating and learning.

Just returned from a wonderful week at Woodland Ridge Retreat. Everything was wonderful, comfy bed, clean rooms, super food, and a great workshop by Sandra Mollon. Chris, the owner, attended to every detail and has the most wonderful fabrics for sale. Can’t wait to go again.

First quilt retreat ever and I was sad to leave. Being at Woodland Ridge is home away from the responsibilities of home. The workshop stretched me. I learned new skills. I also gained a greater appreciation and understanding of the creative process. Did I mention sewing in the great company of really interesting people? Thank you for creating this space.

Woodland Ridge is absolutely the best place to retreat on the planet! I have been retreating at Woodland Ridge, multiple times a year, since I first discovered it, attending a fabulous Workshop in 2016. What makes the place so special? I’ll cut to the chase and list some of the reasons that come to mind: Immaculate! And accommodations are all on one level. Comfy beds with quality bedding. Roomy showers with strong water pressure and lots of hot water. The catered meals are delicious. Or, the most gracious and accommodating host, Chris, allows guests to cook their own meals in the commercial style kitchen. If that isn’t option enough, the tiny town of Downsville has three great restaurant options just a short walk away. My fingers are getting tired of typing, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the unbelievable project room: Outstanding lighting. Adjustable project tables and adjustable chairs with great back support. One more thing. The Workshop offerings - taught by true experts - are so intriguing that it is hard to choose. Looking forward to my next retreat!

Woodland Ridge Retreat Center is a cut above what you would expect to experience. Their classrooms are spacious and outfitted well with work tables, cutting tables, ironing stations, comfy chairs, individual workstation lights and plenty of outlets. Their meals are light and bright and very tasty and they can adjust for an individual’s special dietary needs. The bedrooms are spacious as well and the bathrooms are beautiful with huge whirlpool tubs and walk-in showers. All of this is tucked-in the woods at the edge of town. Internationally-known teachers are happy to be there (I’ve spoken to some) and say it’s one of the best retreat centers they know of. With the newer addition of a top-notch, quality quilt shop within the retreat, what more could you ask for? The little town has a couple of options for eating as well. It’s all good at Woodland Ridge!

This is my favorite retreat center in the area! Chris is such welcoming hostess. The retreat center itself is as lovely as a nice hotel, with so many thoughtful touches and details. The beds are super comfortable, and there is a Jacuzzi tub and large shower in each room. The retreat center is out of the way enough to feel like a real retreat, with walking paths and natural scenery, but close enough to a fantastic fabric shop and restaurants in town that you don't get cabin fever. The sewing room is cozy and well-lit, with large windows, big adjustable tables, and ample design wall space. I have many dietary issues and Chris was able to accommodate me without making me feel at all like a burden--and served food that was both healthy and delicious! Our group of friends has been to Woodland Ridge three times and it is a yearly tradition. Looking forward to next time already!
